Christmas can be a magical time, but equally it can be really difficult if you're dealing with bereavement or any form of grief. This is a card for anyone who might be struggling and features a poem inside which I wrote to offer comfort to anyone facing difficulties at this time of year.
The poem was shared by mental health charity Your Voice just before Christmas 2019. It then had over 20000 reshares and thousands of heartbreaking comments from people recently bereaved and those who still struggle with other griefs from the past. I read each comment and in that moment I decided to make this a card which people could send for Christmas. There were so many comments from people saying how much comfort these words had given them during a difficult time. 50p from each card will be going to Your Voice who provide support and many services to assist women with their mental health journey.
The Poem inside reads:
If Christmas is hard, if you’ve lost someone dear,
Just look in your heart, and you’ll know they’re still here.
The star in the sky, the light falling snow.
The robin outside, it seems like they know.
If this is a time, when you’re struggling through,
Just do what you can, for what matters, is you.
There’s no need to be merry, there’s no need to be bright.
Just do what you can, it will all be alright.

If Christmas Is Hard Card
“Your Voice Cornwall was launched to help support women’s Mental Health, across Cornwall. With Cornwall being one of the most deprived areas, for resources and support for Mental Health in the UK, there was a real need to be met.
"Your purchase has helped fund vital support groups and social activities that bring women together and help each other on their Mental Health journeys. It is also going to help the organisation to eventually set up a Wellness Hub (the first of its kind, in Cornwall) that will provide amazing resources for so many” - Natasha, founder Your Voice.
Thank you so much for helping me support this charity with 50p per card going to the charity.
